things to do in Wilsons Promontory

Wilsons Promontory hosts some of the most stunning scenery you'll find in Australia. Although most of the peninsula is national park, it is readily accessible and free to enter on a day pass (available as you drive in).

Getting to The Prom

An easy 45 minute drive from the motel to the park entrance Wilsons Promontory is a perfect day trip. Pack one of the motel eskies with some snacks and drinks and you'll be ready for a hike up Mount Oberon or the Dunes of the Big Drift (or you can just sit on the sand at Norman Beach or Squeaky Beach).

Walking and Wildlife

There are numerous walking tracks from 45 minute circuits to multi-night hikes. Kangaroos, wombats, emus and birdlife thrive on the peninsula and are a likely site. For sealife, we highly recommend taking a tour with Wanderer Adventures where you will gain a unique perspective on the coastal scenery while (hopefully) getting a glimpse of whales as they migrate through the area.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of the beautiful land on which we work, love and play.
We pay our deepest respects to elders, past and present, from here and surrounding communities, looking after their land and families.
