Shallow Inlet Marine and Coastal Park - Sandy Point

Shallow Inlet Marine and Coastal Park
Sandy Point

At the northern boundary of Wilsons Promontory lies this tranquil and secluded tidal waterway.

The waters are ideal for swimming, sailing, surfing and sea kayaking - you name it, it’s been done here. The woodlands lining the coastline are abundant in native fauna and are teeming with birdlife.

Shallow Inlet is also a hotspot for fishing, with salmon, trevally, large flathead, and King George Whiting being the catch of the day. Toilets and barbecue facilities can be found at the inlet.

The firmly compacted sand means that vehicles can be driven on the beach, giving greater access to the water. Be sure to check tide times before driving onto the sand.
